TAP Athletes Pitching Academy

The TAP Athletes Pitching Academy is a six-month development program for youth pitchers who have shown pitching potential — and are ready for the structure required to realize it. Athletes train inside a pitching environment where every session has purpose. Intensity is controlled. Mechanics are refined. Velocity and command are tracked. And adjustments are made deliberately — not emotionally and not randomly. Pitchers train in a 4-athlete cohort for 6 months. Developing alongside peers who are equally committed, creating accountability, competition, and long-term retention of skills. Each athlete follows an individualized development plan based on age, physical ability, and competitive goals. A pitcher preparing for 50/70 competition requires a different progression than a HS athlete preparing for varsity innings. The structure adapts to the athlete, but the expectations remain high. Why Six Months? Six months is intentional. It allows us to guide pitchers through at least two structured training phases. Most athletes will experience both: - An in-season phase, where training shifts to maintenance, efficiency, recovery, and command under fatigue - An off-season or ramp-up phase, where volume, intensity, and velocity development are progressively increased Pitchers learn how to prepare for a season, how to manage workload during competition or how to transition out of season without losing progress. They experience what it means to ramp up responsibly — and how to ramp down without losing the adaptations they’ve built. What the Academy Includes Training blends multiple development formats inside one structured plan: - Mechanical refinement through private instruction - Competitive reps in small-group environments - Structured throwing progressions that build durability and intent - Ongoing performance review and plan adjustments - Development of secondary pitches Secondary pitches are built around how each athlete naturally throws. Arm slot, release profile, movement tendencies, and strengths guide pitch selection and refinement. Instead of forcing a universal breaking ball or changeup, we build an arsenal that complements the athlete’s delivery and enhances overall effectiveness. By the end of six months, pitchers are not just throwing harder. They understand their mechanics, their pitch shapes, how their arsenal works together, and how to prepare their body for the demands of competition.
